Meet the Founder
Karthika Sakthi
Founder and Director of Kings of Chess LLC
Karthika Sakthi is a professional chess coach and US Chess-certified Tournament Director with more than nine years of chess teaching experience.
She founded Kings of Chess to make chess enjoyable, accessible and meaningful for children of all skill levels. Through school chess clubs, online classes, private lessons, camps and tournaments, she helps students improve their concentration, confidence, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Karthika holds a Master of Computer Applications degree and previously worked as a software developer. She has also worked as an instructor with the University of Colorado Boulder Science Discovery program, combining chess with logic, mathematics, science and strategy.
Her goal is not only to develop stronger chess players, but also to help children learn patience, sportsmanship, responsibility and thoughtful decision-making.
Our Mission
Kings of Chess provides a welcoming learning environment where beginners can learn comfortably and experienced players can continue to grow through advanced lessons, puzzles, practical play, and tournament preparation.
